Barn as Community Hub
Plans for the 2-story, 6,000 SF dairy barn include the creation of studio and workshop space on the ground floor and cultural venue on the 2nd floor. Newledo will embark on a fund-raising campaign to help actualize this vision.
Based on community needs and opportunity areas, Newledo is focusing its efforts around food security. Our scope includes building healthy soil through making and applying biochar and composting, integrating edibles and native plants, hosting a bee training program and community garden, continuing the free food share farm stand and welcoming commercial farmers who will be embarking on growing this summer.

Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife and Midcoast Watersheds Council have plans to restore the north portion of Beaver Creek. This will return the flow back to meandering, create habitat for beaver and salmon and bring in native plants to help keep the waters cool. Newledo envisions walking trails and educational signage throughout this rewilded area. Once completed, we welcome the public, especially school groups to visit. If any educators or researchers are interested in the site, pre-restoration, please reach out.
